What is to be considered when shipping between the EU and Great Britain?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The agreement creates new rules of the game. Confirmed changes since January 1, 2021: Customs declaration required for goods shipments: Since January 1, 2021, a customs declaration is required. Even with “zero tariffs,” a declaration must be created. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A commercial or pro-forma invoice in English is required.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Import VAT continues to be levied. Country-specific restrictions and licenses remain necessary. Requirements for rules of origin (preference declaration): <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zoll-privileged import can take place through a preference declaration. The country of origin must be shown on the commercial\/pro-forma invoice for B2B and B2C. Without such a declaration, it is not possible to apply for duty exemption. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brexit in E-Commerce: What changes for you as an online retailer?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This is relevant for retailers selling to or from Great Britain. Shipping from the EU to Great Britain: Depending on the value of goods, an online retailer may need to register for VAT with the British tax authority. For goods up to 135 pounds, import VAT applies to the shop operator; over 135 pounds, the recipient bears it. You must inform customs of your EORI number. Shipping from Great Britain to the EU: EU customs formalities apply. An EORI number is necessary, and import VAT is due if the value exceeds 22 euros. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without such a declaration, it is not possible to apply for customs exemption. Subsequent changes to the documentation after clearance, if possible at all, are subject to a fee. Stay informed! Brexit also has an impact on online retail. This article is only relevant for online retailers who sell to or from the UK. The most important thing for online retailers now is to adapt their e-commerce business to the new conditions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shipping from the EU to Great Britain – What you need to know<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Due to the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union on January 1, 2021, customs formalities were introduced for imports from both sides. As a result, depending on the value of the goods, an online retailer or operator of an online shop platform may be required to register with the UK tax authorities for the payment of VAT. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For goods valued up to \u00a3135, the shop owner is liable for import VAT. For goods valued over \u00a3135, the recipient is responsible for paying the import VAT. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, you must inform customs authorities, providing your EORI (Economic Operator Identification) number. Even if you already have a European EORI number, you may need to apply for a separate EORI number for shipments to Great Britain or Northern Ireland. Shipping from Great Britain to the EU – What you need to know<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For shipments from Great Britain to the European Union, EU customs formalities apply. An EORI number is also required. Furthermore, import VAT must be paid if the value of the goods exceeds \u20ac22. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Brexit and data protection: What will change?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For data protection-related aspects arising from Brexit, an extended transition period until at least April 30, 2021, has been established. However, data protection regulations may change after this date, potentially impacting the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You will then need to implement any changes that come into effect. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n
