HISTORY
Mail Boxes Etc. (MBE) was founded in 1980 in San Diego, California. Since 2009, Mail Boxes Etc. has been part of MBE Worldwide S.p.A., a subsidiary of Fineffe S.r.l. Behind the Mail Boxes Etc. brand is the world’s largest franchise network providing services in the areas of packaging & shipping, graphic design & printing, and warehousing & order fulfillment for business and private customers.
In 1999, Hendrik Homan brought the Mail Boxes Etc. (MBE) franchise system to Austria. Since spring 2017, the network in Austria has been managed by Dieter Baier as master licensee, who in 2000 was one of the first franchisees to successfully implement the MBE business model in Austria.

Mail Boxes Etc. was chosen as “Franchise Newcomer 2005” by the business magazine “Impulse”.
Mail Boxes Etc. was the test winner in a parcel shop comparison conducted by the trade magazine KEP Aktuell.

MBE Worldwide S.p.A. becomes the worldwide franchisor for the Mail Boxes Etc. brand. The global network comprises 1,247 MBE Centers.
Mail Boxes Etc. has 1,600 MBE centers on four continents. The total revenue of the network amounts to 400 million euros.
2016

Dieter Baier takes over the master license for the network in Austria.
MBE Worldwide, one of the largest franchise networks with 1,600 locations worldwide, is acquiring PostNet International Franchise Corporation (“PostNet”), a renowned graphic design, printing, and mailing franchise system with 660 locations in 9 countries. Both franchise companies currently operate in the business services industry, offering premium mailing, logistics, printing, graphic design, and mail management services. The acquisition of PostNet gives Mail Boxes Etc. a strong presence in the USA, South Africa, and several other countries where the PostNet brand is well-established and experiencing steady growth. Together, the two companies will have a network of nearly 2,300 locations in 33 countries.

MBE Worldwide, one of the largest business networks with 1,600 locations worldwide, is acquiring AlphaGraphics, Inc. (“AlphaGraphics”), a leading design, graphics, marketing, and communications trading company. This acquisition brings the global MBE network to 2,600 locations in 40 different countries.
